Andrew and Tristan Tate have been arrested in Miami following an extradition request filed by the United Kingdom. The two brothers, well-known social media influencers with millions of followers, were taken into custody by US authorities.

According to reports, Andrew Tate, 39, faces seven counts of rape, three counts of facilitating human trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of personal injury, and a further 19 counts related to images of minors and extreme pornography. Tristan Tate, 38, faces charges of sexual violence, two counts of rape, and three counts of organizing or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation. The alleged episodes, according to the British police report, date back to the period between July 2010 and August 2017.

This is not the first time the two have been under investigation. In December 2022 they were arrested in Romania on charges of organizing a system to recruit women and force them into prostitution or to produce pornographic videos. The Romanian proceedings did not formally proceed due to legal and procedural irregularities, and the two have consistently denied all charges.

The brothers' lawyer, Joseph McBride, intervened on the Miami arrest, calling it a serious abuse and expressing confidence in their imminent release, stating that once a competent judge reviews the facts the two brothers will be free.

Andrew Tate was identified by Romanian police in 2022 also thanks to a detail visible in a video posted on social media. In 2016 he was removed from the British television show Big Brother after being filmed assaulting a fellow contestant. The two brothers, former professional kickboxers, promote a lifestyle of conspicuous luxury on social media and have amassed a large online following. In June 2025 they were among the Western attendees at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
