A 19-year-old, Simone Concas, was stabbed to death in Bari Sardo, Ogliastra. The incident occurred on the afternoon of July 22, 2026.

According to investigations by the carabinieri of the Lanusei company and the Nuoro provincial command, Concas had hit a young woman with his car. The woman was taken to hospital with severe leg injuries and admitted in Cagliari. Concas was subsequently reached and killed with multiple stab wounds.

Law enforcement detained a minor identified as the brother of the injured woman. According to several news outlets, the boy, described as 16 years old, confessed to the carabinieri. The same minor reportedly told investigators that he acted in self-defense against an aggression.

Several outlets also report that, according to investigators, Concas had been harassing the young woman in the days leading up to the incident, a hypothesis that is part of the ongoing investigation. Firefighters from Tortolì and 118 emergency medical personnel also arrived at the scene but were unable to save the 19-year-old. Lanusei prosecutor Paola Dal Monte was also present at the scene.

The suspect was transferred to the juvenile institute of Quartucciu. Investigations into the exact sequence of events are still ongoing.
