Simone Concas, 19, was stabbed to death in Bari Sardo, Ogliastra, on the afternoon of July 22, 2026. Carabinieri from the Lanusei company, 118 emergency personnel, and Tortolì firefighters responded to the scene. The 118 responders were unable to save the young man's life.

A girl, injured with severe leg trauma, was transported by helicopter to Brotzu hospital in Cagliari, where she was hospitalized.

The dynamics of the incident were initially subject to diverging accounts. According to some testimonies gathered in the early hours, a car had struck the couple and the incident led to a fight culminating in the stabbing. According to another version, the victim had struck a girl with his car and then drove away, before being caught up and attacked. Subsequent findings by investigators indicated that the suspect is the brother of a girl who had been struck and injured shortly before by the victim's car.

A minor was detained and is under investigation for homicide. The young suspect was transferred to the juvenile detention institute in Quartucciu. The prosecutor of Lanusei, Paola Dal Monte, also arrived at the scene. Investigations by the Carabinieri of the Nuoro provincial command continue, with the collection of testimonies and the examination of surveillance cameras in the area.
