An act of sabotage struck the Turin-Lyon railway construction site in Chiomonte on the night of July 27-28, 2026. Construction equipment and infrastructure were set on fire, leaving the site covered in ash and debris. The incident has been described as the most serious attack on the site since 2011. According to Telt, the company managing the project, environmental monitoring stations were also destroyed, and repairing the damage will take time. Managers at the Chiomonte site stated they do not intend to be intimidated by the event. Investigations are underway to determine responsibility.
