Andrew and Tristan Tate have been arrested in Miami, Florida, by US authorities following an extradition request filed by the United Kingdom. The two brothers, Anglo-American influencers followed by millions of users on social media, face multiple charges including rape, human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

According to reports from British police, Andrew Tate, 39, has been charged with seven counts of rape, three counts of facilitating human trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of personal injury, and a further nineteen counts related to images of minors and extreme pornography. Tristan Tate, 38, faces charges of sexual violence, two counts of rape, and three counts of organizing or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation. The alleged episodes date back to the period between July 2010 and August 2017.

The brothers have consistently denied all charges. Following the Miami arrest, their lawyer Joseph McBride described the situation as a serious abuse and expressed confidence in an imminent release, stating that a competent judge would recognize the lack of foundation of the accusations.

This is not the first time the two have been under investigation. In December 2022 they were arrested in Romania on charges of organizing a system to recruit women and force them into prostitution or the production of pornographic videos. The Romanian proceedings did not formally proceed due to legal and procedural irregularities. The two had relocated to Romania starting in 2015.

The Tate brothers, former professional kickboxers, rose to prominence on social media through content related to gender themes and lifestyles centered on the display of luxury. Several media outlets describe them as figures associated with the so-called manosphere. In the past, Andrew Tate had been removed from the British television show Big Brother in 2016 after a video surfaced showing him striking a fellow contestant.
