RAI television host Federico Quaranta, known for the program "Il Provinciale", was attacked at night in Milan by three young people who attempted to rob him. Quaranta was returning home with his daughter after a trip. According to his account published on Instagram, the three targeted a backpack, a suitcase, and an old Omega watch that had belonged to his father. The host said he reacted to the assault, adding: "I risked big, it went well. Maybe it would have been better to give up the loot." He reported no serious consequences from the episode. In the same social media post, Quaranta drew a broader reflection on the city, comparing Milan to an inverted version of Dante's Inferno, with golden enclosures and armored storefronts at the center and increasingly deteriorating outskirts moving outward. He described the episode not as simple criminality but as "the failure of an idea of coexistence" and also called his own reaction "a defeat." The three attackers were described by Quaranta as "covered in brands, consumed by social rage and revenge." The post drew numerous messages of solidarity from public figures, including Jovanotti, rapper Frankie hi-nrg mc, pastry chef Sal De Riso, showgirl Alessia Mancini, and chef Cesare Battisti. The episode is the latest in a series of similar incidents reported in Milan by well-known television personalities.
