A fire that broke out near the city of Olbia, in the locality of Padrongiano, near State Road 125, led to the closure of the Costa Smeralda airport. The road was closed to traffic in both directions. The smoke column developed a short distance from the airport, prompting the suspension of operations at the facility until 7:00 PM, when regular service resumed.

Flights bound for Olbia were diverted to the airports of Cagliari and Alghero. Firefighting operations at the site near Olbia were coordinated by the Director of firefighting operations of the Olbia forest station, with the support of two helicopters from the Limbara and Farcana bases and two Canadair aircraft (Can 8 and Can 12).

Over the course of the day, the number of fires in Sardinia rose to seven. In the evening, three additional fires were reported: one in the Olbia area, in Gallura, one in the municipality of Gonnosfanadiga, in the locality of Spadula, in Medio Campidano, where a helicopter from the Fenosu base was deployed, and one in the municipality of Siliqua, in the locality of Riu Pittiu, in the Iglesiente area, where a helicopter from the San Cosimo base was operating.
