US President Donald Trump and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun met during a conference on the second day of implementation of the Lebanon-Israel treaty, mediated by the United States. The treaty provides for the establishment of "pilot zones" in certain areas of southern Lebanon, from which Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) will withdraw to hand control over to the Lebanese Armed Forces.

During the meeting, Trump and Aoun also discussed the disarmament of Hezbollah. According to reports, the Lebanese president addressed his US counterpart calling him "a great president," to which Trump reportedly replied: "You know how to take me."

The meeting takes place within the broader framework of Lebanon-Israel relations and the role of the United States as mediator in the implementation process of the agreement.
