The Bologna prosecutor's office is investigating the death of Abderrahim Fakir, a 42-year-old man who died during a police intervention on a Sunday. The investigation focuses on two main lines: the procedures followed by officers during the immobilization of the man and the operational decisions of the 118 emergency medical service. Investigators are evaluating the entire sequence of events and the positions of two officers and four healthcare operators involved.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death. Meanwhile, investigators are seeking to obtain additional videos recorded by residents in the area to reconstruct the full dynamics of what occurred.

A video recorded by a resident and broadcast by Tg La7 documents the moments preceding the police intervention. In the footage, Fakir appears lying on his back on the ground, in an apparent state of confusion. An officer can be heard asking him to stay calm, while the man asks him to be quiet. According to the police officers' lawyers, shortly after the moments captured in the video, Fakir allegedly attacked a man who was parking his car, an episode not visible in the footage, at which point the officers intervened.
