The Paris Court of Appeal has confirmed Marine Le Pen's conviction for misappropriation of European Parliament funds, related to the case of parliamentary assistants of Front National, now Rassemblement National, deputies. The sentence was however reduced compared to the first instance.

The conviction includes 15 months of ineligibility, which according to the defense has already been served, and the obligation to wear an electronic bracelet for one year.

Le Pen announced she will appeal to the Cour de Cassation to suspend the bracelet measure, arguing that two jurisdictions can both be wrong and reiterating her innocence. She also confirmed her participation in the 2027 presidential elections, for the fourth time, declaring that she will campaign without wearing the electronic bracelet.

The prosecutor confirmed that Le Pen can begin the electoral campaign without the bracelet, specifying however that if the Cour de Cassation does not accept the appeal, she may have to wear the device in the final months of the campaign.

In an interview with the TF1 evening news, Le Pen also indicated Jordan Bardella as prime minister in case of victory, describing their pairing as one that would change things in France.

According to ANSA, the newspaper Le Monde criticized Le Pen, accusing her of having principles of variable geometry.
