The player stated he had considered retiring but ultimately decided to continue playing. James wrote that he believes he can help make the 76ers a championship-caliber team and expressed enthusiasm about joining a new fanbase. The player said he is not motivated by money or family reasons at this stage of his career, but by the desire to compete and pursue another championship. According to Il Fatto Quotidiano, James will join Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Jaylen Brown, who recently left the Boston Celtics. In his posts, James also thanked his former teams: Los Angeles, Miami, and the Cleveland area.
