Sogesid, the State engineering company, has announced the completion of 317 interventions by June 30 for flood risk management and the reduction of hydraulic and hydrogeological risk in territories affected by the 2023 floods in Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, and Marche. The figure exceeds the PNRR target of 190 interventions.

Sogesid acted as implementing entity, providing engineering expertise, project management capacity, and technical-administrative support throughout all phases of implementation. The interventions include the restoration of road infrastructure and the securing of river channels.

Sogesid President Silvia Paparella stated that exceeding the PNRR target demonstrates the effectiveness of collaboration among institutions. Paparella expressed appreciation to Extraordinary Commissioner Fabrizio Curcio and the entire commissioner structure for their coordination, and emphasized that loyal collaboration among the commissioner structure, the Regions, and implementing entities makes it possible to meet PNRR objectives and deliver strategic works for territorial safety and resilience.
