Protests are underway in Kiev and Odessa, organized by civil society representatives and veterans demanding the return of former Defense Minister Fedorov to the ministry. The demonstrations follow the removal of army commander Syrsky, announced in recent weeks. Protesters criticize Syrsky's methods, which they consider outdated, and call for reassigning Defense to Fedorov to prioritize soldier welfare and digital innovation.

According to reports, Fedorov was offered a government position by President Zelensky but declined, expressing his request to regain the Defense ministry.

On the operational front, Ukrainian drones struck warehouses of Wildberries, Russia's leading e-commerce operator often described as the Russian Amazon, in the village of Novosaratovka, Vsevolozhsk district, northeast of St. Petersburg. According to available accounts, fires broke out in at least two facilities, with three injured reported. In recent days, an oil depot and the Aviatek company, part of Russia's aviation and defense complex, had also been struck. A raid was reported in Crimea as well.

On the diplomatic front, a meeting between US Secretary of State Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov took place in Manila, described by some outlets as tense and yielding no concrete results. The twenty-first sanctions package against Moscow has also been approved. President Zelensky is expected in the United States for a meeting with Trump scheduled for July 28.
