A serious incident occurred on a Ryanair flight from Thessaloniki to Memmingen, in Bavaria. Shortly after takeoff, a window of the aircraft broke, causing a male passenger to be partially expelled from the cabin. According to initial reports, the man was left with his head and shoulders outside the aircraft.

Other passengers intervened promptly to hold the man and prevent him from being completely sucked out of the cabin, forming a human chain. Some witness accounts indicate the man may also have been held back by his seatbelt.

The aircraft made an emergency return and landing. According to reports from Il Giornale, a possible engine failure may have caused debris to detach and strike the window, though the exact cause is still under investigation. Four people were reportedly taken to hospital for treatment or checkups.

The passenger at the center of the incident was described as a 61-year-old man. All those on board are reported to be safe. Authorities have opened an investigation to determine the causes of the accident.
