A tourist climbed the Lama Monachile cliff in Polignano a Mare, in the province of Bari, with a camera around her neck, apparently aiming to take a photo from the best vantage point.

The woman got stuck halfway up the rock face after losing her grip, while several people at the cove recorded the scene with their phones.

The tourist reportedly managed to reach safety on her own, though it remains unclear how she descended.

Mayor Vito Carrieri urged caution, reminding the public that climbing and diving from forbidden spots is not a stunt and stressing the danger of such actions.

In August 2025, a 23-year-old man died at Lama Monachile after diving from the cliff.
