A video created with artificial intelligence has circulated on social media in which MEP and Forza Nuova Vannacci leader Roberto Vannacci appears dressed as a Roman emperor inside an amphitheater. In the footage, opposition political figures — including Elly Schlein, Giuseppe Conte, Romano Prodi, and Laura Boldrini — are depicted as bound prisoners, while the figure of Vannacci orders their execution with a thumbs-down gesture. The video was shared on social media profiles linked to Vannacci and subsequently reposted by the MEP himself.

Conte's reaction. Five Star Movement leader Giuseppe Conte published a Facebook post calling the video a message that incites violence and risks stimulating the most fanatical individuals. Conte referenced his own experience in institutions and the military, expressing concern about the tone of political communication. He then asked whether Giorgia Meloni, who appears figuratively in the video alongside Vannacci, intends to condone this type of communication, and concluded by stating that the opposition will not be intimidated.

Other political reactions. PD Senate group president Francesco Boccia described the video as aberrant and violent political communication, speaking of incitement to hatred, and asked Meloni to clarify her position. Laura Boldrini, also depicted in the footage, spoke of a brutalization of politics and argued that the video has nothing ironic about it, representing instead a death threat against representatives of other political forces.

Vannacci's response. Following the protests raised by the reactions, Vannacci reportedly commented by suggesting critics take an antihistamine, according to press reports.

The video, based on available reconstructions, also includes figures such as Giorgia Meloni and Ignazio La Russa as spectators in the amphitheater, as well as Vannacci's wife in empress attire. The context is the ongoing electoral campaign, in which Vannacci recently declared his willingness to sign a formal agreement with the center-right coalition.
