A video lasting one minute and fourteen seconds, provided to ANSA by lawyer Fabio Anselmo, legal representative of Abderrahim Fakir's family, shows the moments of resuscitation of the man following a police intervention on July 19 at the Pilastro neighborhood in Bologna. Fakir, 43, a Moroccan national, died during a police check.

In the footage, filmed by a local resident, the man is seen on the ground, still bound with zip ties at his ankles and with his arms behind his back. Four Red Cross rescuers are around him: one performs chest compressions and another ventilation. Defibrillator wires are attached to his body. A police officer is also present, kneeling near the body.

According to lawyer Anselmo, blood traces and dark brown marks from pepper spray applied at close range are visible on Fakir's face. The lawyer emphasized that resuscitation was carried out while the man was still restrained.

The family and their lawyer chose to release the footage in order to show the conditions Fakir was in at the time of the rescue.

According to a source cited by the LaPresse news agency, Fakir was still alive, although in serious condition, when Red Cross volunteers arrived, approximately 30 seconds after the end of the police intervention. The volunteers reportedly detected a faint heartbeat and began resuscitation efforts while waiting for the 118 emergency doctor to arrive. The two rescuers are reportedly not medical professionals but individuals trained in first aid. Chest compressions, including the use of the defibrillator now under seizure, reportedly continued until the doctor arrived.

The Prosecutor's office is reconstructing the sequence of rescue operations and the aspects related to emergency management.
